Joost Roozekrans joins Silo as Creative Director Amsterdam

Strategic design agency Silo has strengthened its team with designer Joost Roozekrans. As a highly experienced Creative Director, Joost will lead Silo’s Amsterdam studio.

Joost has a great track record in branding and identity design and was one of the designers behind the acclaimed identity and vehicle striping for the Dutch national police.

“The arrival of Joost gives an impulse to our development into an all-round strategic design agency. His knowledge and international experience fit our research-driven approach,” says Dennis Flinterman, managing director of Silo.

Joost’s new position at Silo follows a ten-year period in Shanghai, China where he led his own agency SparkyTiger and taught branding and identity design. From 2009 to 2012 he was the creative director at Studio Dumbar Shanghai.

After his studies at St. Joost in Breda, Joost began his career at Smidswater and later at Studio Dumbar. In London, he worked for The Guardian on the design of the online newspaper and as a freelance designer for various agencies. In 2001 he co-founded design agency NLXL in The Hague.

When Joost is not at work, he likes to visit mega-cities, museums, and restaurants. His broad musical taste extends from classical music to African world music, and from techno to tango.

In October 2018 Silo opened a second studio in Amsterdam. From this location, Silo collaborates with clients such as the Muziekgebouw, Amsterdam Science Park, and Albert Heijn.
