The creative industry is one of the fastest growing and most impactful sectors in the Netherlands. The sector accounts for 6 percent growth per year. In 2011 the Dutch government appointed the creative industries as one of nine top sectors in order to create a more innovative Dutch economy. With focused investments the government aims to strengthen the sector.
The Dutch Creative Council is a catalyst for the innovative capacity of the Netherlands. Their commitment increases the impact of the Dutch creative industry by making connections within the sector and outside. The council advises the government on focus countries for the creative industries, strategic trade fairs and trade missions that are relevant to the creative industries.
The council targets on The Netherlands as most creative economy of Europe by 2020. SILO was hired to help the council to find a strong and visual expression for the strategic advisory board. The resulting logo consists of the letters ‘DCC’, with space between the to C’s providing a metaphorical stage for alternating messages. The website communicates current positions of the council and developments in the different sectors.
The council successfully launched the visual identity and website. Their activity and participation in projects are made visible. The website communicates all relevant aspects of the creative industry in which the Council is involved with, and what is on the agenda.
